Which one to choose? RCA vs HDMI?

RCA (CVBS) is ideal for connecting to most chartplotters and marine displays that support analog video input. If using RCA, make sure to set the chartplotter to PAL format for the best image quality. HDMI is the better option for those who want higher resolution and sharper image quality, perfect for connecting to an external monitor or a modern MFD with HDMI input. Choose the option that best fits your boat’s setup and viewing needs!

Can I see crab traps and buoys with this camera?

Yes, the Boateye360 camera excels in identifying crab traps, buoys, and other hazards, providing full-color images even in near-total darkness. However, traveling at higher speeds may affect your ability to see and react to these objects in time. We always recommend navigating at slower speeds during nighttime for optimal safety.

What is the default frame rate of the camera?

The default frame rate for our camera is 30 fps (recommended). A 60 fps option is available.

Does the camera come with all the required cables?

Yes, all necessary cables are included with your purchase. The standard cable length provided is 33 feet (10 meters). If you need longer cables, they are available for purchase separately.

Does the HDMI version include two cables?

Yes, the HDMI version includes an HDMI cable with a length of 16.4 feet (5 meters) and a power cable that is 33 feet (10 meters).

What type of screws or bolts do I need to mount it?

You will need standard marine-grade stainless steel screws or bolts, size M5. These are not included with the camera, so please prepare accordingly for installation.

Is the camera waterproof? Can I use it underwater?

The camera is rated IP68 to IP69, making it highly resistant to water ingress. It is not designed for underwater operation and should not be submerged.

Is the provided pelican-style case waterproof?

Yes, the pelican-style case that comes with our camera is waterproof and can be used for storing important documents and other safety devices.

Do you have a portable version?

How to reduce noise when using analog video (BNC/RCA)?

To reduce noise when using analog video, ensure all connections are secure and use shielded cables. Try to ground both the camera and chartplotter/monitor at the same location. Additionally, avoid routing cables near radar, radio, and other high-interference devices to minimize disruption.
